This past weekend was the R16 Bboy event held yearly in Korea. I was so thankful my leg was okay that I could get out of the house and go somewhere. The R in R16 stands for 'Respect' and the 16 represents the 16 countries that are invited to the event. Apparently they these 16 countries have some of the best bboys. I was surprised to see Vietnam there but was excited that they were.
This was a two day event and I went to both. The first day consisted of poppers, lockers and solo bboys. The second day was crew battles between eight countries (Germany, Spain, Vietnam, Puerto Rico, France, Korea, China, and the Philippines). Overall the second day was much better with more people, energy, and entertainment.
The flyer for the event. It was pretty cool since the bboy was a collage of the bboys from around the world.

I forget which one this was but in the end Just Do It from Holland won for the solo bboy competition. I was rooting for Neguin from Brazil though.
Video of France vs USA.
France's crew performance. They were throwing this guy Lil Kev everywhere! That is him in the middle with his legs up.

The 1st place winner was Korean and 2nd place winner was France. I was rooting for France the whole time but I have to admit Korea was pretty good and creative.
*I couldn't load the group battle videos. Grrr. Sorry everyone, the pics aren't as great.
whaaatttt??? an international breakdance competition!? my friend was talking to me about a bboy competition called IBE, or international breakdance competition, and i thought this was it, but its held in the netherlands. i've been surrounded by hip hop aspects so much recently, but i really enjoy the dance portion. so yeah!
