Asan Animal Shelter

I got a chance to go to an Animal Shelter this week in Asan to volunteer to walk dogs. The shelter houses more than 250 animals up in a mountain! I plan on adopting one, but not just yet, have to settle in first. There was this adorable Shitzu that I wanted right there and then but I had to restrain myself, taking on a pet is a huge responsibility I realized after walking them. It started snowing that day and we walked the dogs regardless. Hence, I was freezing!!! My toes got frozen after about two hours, but it was all worth it. The dogs were so excited to go out for a walk!
Instant Ramen Vending Machine...haha so convenient.
My favorite 자 섵 비 빔 빕 (Bi Bim Bap in a Hot Clay Pot). Needed a good breakfast before we go trekking in the mountain.
Right when we got to Asan it started snowing like crazy! Then after that It snowed like this on and off for the rest of the day.

The steep mountain we had to go up to reach the shelter. -_- I was scared for my life.
Eeps! So happy it snowed, my first real snow storm experience.
First dog I walked, he would not look at me and kept running so I had to run with him!
Tripod, he can only walk on three legs, not too sure what happened to his fourth one.
This one was so adorable, he was so appreciative of me walking him.
Ahhh the little coats, so cute.
Us walking in the snow stormish weather.
I had to grab his face so he can look at the camera and he decides to close his eyes! Haha.
His fur was really nice for living outside on the mountain side.

The gate keeper, kinda, he was on a pretty short lease. Apparently he loves humans but will attack dogs.
The caged area.

So many of them!
The larger dogs are caged separately since they're a bit feistier.
We got soooooo dirty and smelly trying to take the dogs out of their cages and then walking them. Since it was snowing, we got mud all over our clothes. So what better way to clean up then a bath house? I would have to say this was a very interesting experience, going to leave it at that.

Ahhh and then finally an Octopus and Squid rice dinner. =D So good, but so spicy that my stomach burned.

*If any of you want to ADOPT a dog you definitely can from the Asan shelter! They will send the dog to you. Here the adopting fee is $50 so I don't think it will be that much more plus shipping cost.
