Work has been good so far. It has officially been two weeks and I am getting the hang of how to teach the students. I still have some trouble here and there with students refusing to talk, making the material interesting, and working with students who do not understand a thing coming out of my mouth. The students are great though, I got an "I love you teacher" one day, a sticker another, and a hand made heart once. The staff has been great as well, accommodating to the things I need and great people to be around.
One day we were doing a Dialogue exercise and the students had to change the dialogue. One came up to me and drew a bottle and did the drunken fumble and asked me how to say that. I answered, Soju? So here goes the dialogue...
Q: What are some similarities between my mother and father?
A: They both like to drink.
Q: How else are they similar?
A: They both like to drink Soju.
The dialogue speaks for itself.
Stairs, stairs, stairs! They are everywhere. To cross the street I have to walk up these darn long stairways. I'm always so happy to see the light! At least I'm going to get a good butt workout.
Yum, Signature Hot Chocolate. The Starbucks are huge here, multiple stories and very comfy chairs. I came here one day to do prep work for my classes, it was nice looking outside from teh second floor. However, I greatly miss my Mocha Bianca days, sitting at Cafe Milano or Strada and just relaxing.
The awesome new desks my classes get because we are part of a new program at the company that teaches younger students. I teach 1st to 5th graders.

One angle of my classroom, my desk is all the way in the corner. I have as little as three students and as many as nine students. The program is still growing, so there will probably be more later, but I love the smaller classes, the students always have more fun.

My point of view of the classroom. They're all so small compared to me.
Huge jug of Korean Beer when I went out with my co-workers for Indian Food. It does not compare to House of Curries or Naan and Currey in Berkeley.
Korean BBQ!!! We had Galbi I think. I went to go eat with the other teachers in my program, they're so fun. I love all the little side dishes!!!
Yum! Korean BBQ again, this time at Sinchon. Thanks to Anthony for inviting me out. This time it was All You Can Eat BBQ for $8!!!

The best Tteokbokki in front of my apt. They're basically spicy rice cakes. So soft, chewy, and delicious.
The Korean version of Chicken Katsu. I would say this is a one time thing only, it's not as flavorful as L&L Hawaiian BBQ.
I am missing all of my fatty foods. I don't like the Asian McD's, Asian Burger King, and Asian Cakes. It's all too...Asian!
